We cordially invite interested persons to participate in the 2008 International Symposium on Agricultural Education for Sustainable Development (AgESD Symposium 2008) from November 4 to 11, 2008 at the University of Tsukuba, Tsukuba, Japan. The Agricultural and Forestry Research Center, University of Tsukuba (AFRC-UT) as an Associated Centre of Asia and the Pacific Programme of Educational Innovative Development (APEID) is sponsoring this symposium as a kick off meeting for the APEID 8th Programme Cycle (2008-2013). The goal of the symposium is to discuss the present situation and roles of universities and institutions in education for sustainable development (ESD) particularly focusing on agriculture (Ag). Presently, Mohammad Noor Akbary, Member of International Affair Commission for the Afghanistan National Assembly; Dr. David Atchoarena, Senior Program Specialist for International Institute for Educational Planning and Professor Shuichi Nakayama, Hiroshima University of Economics, have agreed to attend as keynote speakers.
